About Kow
For over a decade, Kow Abaka Essuman has served the New Patriotic Party and the people of Ghana — in government, at the national level, and here at home in Ablekuma West.
He has stood at the President's side as Legal Counsel to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (2017–2025) and as Acting Secretary to the President, serving as a member of Cabinet. He helped run national campaigns as Director of New Media for the NPP, and sits on the Party's Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee.
But he has also shown up on the ground in our own constituency — as Chairman of Martin de Porres Polling Station A, as the election-day lawyer assigned to Ablekuma West in 2016, 2020 and 2024, and as a neighbour who gives practical help when it is needed.
A lawyer admitted in Ghana, England & Wales and New York, he holds an LLM from Cornell, was called to the Bar by Lincoln's Inn, and lectures in Constitutional Law at GIMPA. He is a recipient of the Grand Medal of Ghana and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
